Learning Objectives

As the Department of Economics (English), we aim at transferring the rich world of the science of Economics to our students. In the first years, students are not only taught the fundamentals of Economics but also encouraged to take courses from different fields of social sciences in order to understand how the Economics is enriched by these fields. In later years, theory of economics, fiscal policy, development, theory of money, history of economics, methodology of economics and mathematical and statistical methods are taught in detail. 

Equipped with all this knowledge, our students graduate from our department in such a way that they are very well aware of the methodology of science of Economics, they understand the notion of economical thinking, they can evaluate economical incidents by creating relation between theory and practice. Our students who graduate from our university with all these qualifications know historical phases and different aspects of Turkish and world economies in the light of examples and become qualified and well-equipped enough to work as researcher and practitioner in every field of economy.
